To create a smarter built environment standardized information structures are needed. If standardized digital information is generated for our buildings and surrounding infrastructure then this information can be used to monitor real-time performance and more easily maintain. The specification data in the design and then ultimately in the hand-over record is key to this. Equally the information within and attached to the 3D model is critical. NBS deliver a free-to-use BIM library of generic and manufacturer standardized objects which is now offering Canadian specific content. Digicon is now part of NBS and in this presentation Dave and Stephen will give a first demonstration in Canada of Digicon CMS specification content within this digital ecosystem. In this presentation, delegates will see how specifications now integrate within a BIM environment. Standard structures including COBie and Uniclass 2015 will be presented. Delegates will also see examples of the work that NBS is currently doing with key customers such as Next Architecture in the Canadian market and UK Government funded projects into digital object identifiers to help with smart city vision.
